Meetings
My services include the following meetings:
Informational interview (~ 30 min.): This can be done over the phone or at a location of your choosing. The purpose is for us to meet each other and answer each other's questions. There is no obligation for you to hire me after this meeting, and I encourage you to meet other doulas to find the one who is right for you.
Pre-natal meeting 1 (~ 2 hrs): I prefer for this meeting to occur in the 7th month of your pregnancy. The purpose is for us to get to know each other, and for us to discuss your desires for the birth of your baby.
Pre-natal meeting 2 (~ 2 hrs): I prefer for this meeting to occur about one month before your due date, usually during or shortly after the time when you are taking childbirth education classes. The purpose is for me to answer any questions that have come up, and for us to talk more about your desires for the birth of your baby.
Labor and birth (time varies!!): I consider my on-call period for a birth to be from two weeks before a due date to two weeks after the due date. I will only take a client if I plan to be in town and available for this “on-call” period. I will join you at the point in your labor that you desire my company, and I will stay until after the baby is born, and your family is ready for some quiet time.
Post-partum visits: I offer to visit you in the early post-partum period (24 -72 hours after birth), to check in and answer any questions you may have. I will visit again 3 - 4 weeks after the birth, to discuss the birth and admire your baby!!
