Ailey: I'm getting tears in my eyes from the cuteness.

June - Ailey Reviews Herself

Ailey: Daddy, my dancing will beautiful your head off.

 March - Ailey Gets Personal

Ailey is brushing teeth.

Ailey: Daddy, is there a great red spot on Uranus?

The Twos

(July 31st 2006 to July 31st 2007)

April - Sheer Manipulation

Ailey is sitting on daddy's lap post-bath. She snuggles close and says "I love you. And yogurt."

November - We should all be so happy about this

Ailey strips her clothes and diaper and runs around the bedroom shouting "I naked! I naked!" She stops, staring at her feet, as if overcome with awe at what she sees there. "I have toes!!!"

September - Honesty is the Best Policy

Hiking around a nearly-drained lake on Daddy's back. Ailey points at house-sized, slippery boulders, and says "want climb dangerous rocks now."

The Ones

(July 31st 2005 to July 31st 2006)

April - Ailey's First Use of the Past Tense

Ailey comes wandering into the kitchen.

Ailey: Ate play-do.

And sure enough, she has a hunk of play-do in her hand with a big ol' chunk missing.

January - Ailey's First Joke

Daddy and Caker are riding in the car. Ailey is looking out the window.

    Ailey: Crocodile!

    Daddy: Crocodile? Where?

    Ailey (shrugs, holds up her hands): Gone.

December

Ailey is watching "The Polar Express" with the rest of us on the couch. A reindeer appears. Ailey points with all the enthusiasm she can muster and shouts "Neigh-Moos!"

October

Ailey is sitting in her high-chair, which makes a great resonating board. She lets fly an enormous fart, points at her crotch and says "bubbles."

March - An Engineer's Instinct (3y 8mo)
